ATLANTA -- In an effort to expand its worldwide reach, Gentle Spirit Christian Church of Atlanta will unveil a new website on February 1, 2010 that puts all the church's online outreach tools in one place. The website address is www.gentlespirit.org.

"We're just so excited," said Rev. Paul M. Turner, Founding and Senior Pastor of the church, which holds services in Candler Park every Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m., rain or shine, 52 weeks a year. "Gentle Spirit has always had an extended outreach that went way beyond the city of Atlanta, so we're hoping our followers find that the new site makes it much easier for them to stay in touch with us."

Among the site's features:

  • A new Pastor's Corner page that features a video interview with Rev. Guy Kent (author of the Questing Parson blog) and copies of past sermons and writings.
  • An interactive calendar that displays a popup window for each event that includes a handy Google Map.
  • A homepage weather widget that shows the four-day forecast for Candler Park.

There's also a handy sidebar on the homepage that allows parishioners to see the week's announcements, prayer list and devotionals.

Among the features carrying over from the old site:

  • A complete online archive of the church's videotaped sermons.
  • An online bible study blog.
  • Rev. Turner's blog, Reverend Bitch, Sir.

Plans are in the works to add a photo gallery, online store and congregational blog.  The church has also added a Twitter account: norulesjustgod.
