ATLANTA-Exciting, spiritual, talented-this group of emerging Christian performers will bring their ministry to Gentle Spirit Christian Church, meeting at Epworth Methodist Church, located at 1561 McLendon Ave., Atlanta. The artists will present a concert at 7:00pm on Thursday, October 28, 2004. There is no admission charge for the concert. A free will love offering will be collected during the concert to support this ministry.
This tour is funded, in part by a grant from the Astrea Foundation through the Atlanta Community Foundation.
The musicians will perform individually and with each other throughout the evening. You will hear some old favorites from your hymnals, as well as original pieces written by the artists, or other contemporary songwriters. The music styles you will experience are from the traditional sing it out loud praises to Jesus, to the quiet and introspective pieces that will work in your heart to strengthen your relationship with the lord.
Each of these artists has recently attended upbeat! a rigorous training program for emerging music artists ministering to the GLBTQ community. Upbeat! Is a program developed by Marsha Stevens and BALM Ministries. Marsha is the famed composer of the first contemporary Christian hymn, "For Those Tears I Died". In addition to touring fulltime throughout the US, sometimes performing with the upbeat! Artists, she shares her experience, gifts and talents with artists wishing to minister to the GLBTQ community.
Come meet the artists, experience the unique ministry they bring to this church, and learn more about the Upbeat! program and artist. Come, just as you are, and experience Jesus through these wonderfully blessed Children of God.
