ATLANTA-Gentle Spirit Christian Church of Atlanta, the "Church Without Walls," will holds its annual community wide Easter Sunrise Service at 7:16am just inside Candler Park on April 8, 2007 in the park's first pavilion.
According to the Senior Pastor, Rev. Paul M. Turner, the service will feature an Easter Meditation, prayer, praise, song and The Sacrament of Holy Communion. In what has become a tradition in its seventh year, Gentle Spirit along with Candler Park neighbors and friends have joined together to celebrate the resurrection of the Christ as the day breaks forth. Immediately following the service participants will be invited to join for breakfast at the Radial Restaurant located 2 blocks away (1530 DeKalb Avenue Atlanta, Georgia 30307). The owner, Phillip Palmer, has opened his restaurant early for the last 7 years to welcome the community following the daybreak worship in the park.
Formed in March of 1998, Gentle Spirit Christian Church of Atlanta, Inc. is a fellowship dedicated to the spreading the gospel of Jesus the Christ to all people in an open, affirming and inclusive manner. The church meets each Sunday in Candler Park at the 1st Pavilion and is literally the "Church Without Walls."
