You came to me in a dream
'Twas so real I couldn't scream
You told me why it was you went away
You let me tell you things I couldn't say
You see, I knew you were going ~
I felt it in my heart
Selfishly I wanted to hang on
But I knew it was best for you to depart
The train for heaven was pulling away
I saw it in your eyes
I just wish that I could go, too
But it's not time yet, I realize
I'm needed here to do God's work
Forgive me please - I'm sometimes a jerk
I caused you to worry and brought a share of your pain and I only wanted to make you smile again
But I know you are finally smiling now
I see you shining in the sky, and HOW!
You are God's Brightest Angel ~
You've earned your wings
I yearn to hold you again and your praises my heart sings
Thank you for sharing with me your life
Enjoy your rest that's now free of all strife.
For my dearest mama Audrey Alice Covey Kenney.
